The things that make banners work are location, design and copy, or what they say. Location means that your banner needs to be placed where it is exposed to the most potential customers. Design means that it must be colourful and attractive and eye-catching so that people want to read it. Copy means what is written on the banner like the sales pitch as such. Whatever the message is that you want to get across, make sure that it says what you want to in a couple of words. Put the message across simply, and in a large and easily readable font; instead of saying “Join us at an incredible sale at our shop this weekend for great savings” rather try “SALE! GREAT DISCOUNTS THIS WEEKEND!” Remember that most people will be reading the banner whilst driving or walking past so need to be able to get the whole message within a split second. Remember to also include the business name in fairly large print on the banner.
Promoting a business is not an easy task. The presence of several competitors pushes a company to use all means to catch as much prospective clients as there is. That is why advertisements and endorsements seem to form a part of a business budget already. Indeed a company who wants to make a mark in the market needs to find its way through the crowd of companies too. One of the strategies used by companies is giving away promotional products. It may seem traditional but in the end, it still proves to be effective. Promotional clothing for instance is an undying method of spreading the name of the company and the products and services it produces.
In utilizing promotional items, various factors have to be considered for them to be able to play their role well. Promotional clothing which generally includes t-shirts need to be noticeable on the first place. How is this done? First, a company must choose a color that does not only associate to the company itself but one that will be accepted universally. The all-time color of black and white are often used because people tend to accept them as they are regardless of their favourite color. Aside from that, such color can go along with any print.
Aside from the color, promotional clothing needs to be made of quality materials. Items which are used to promote are like pieces of the company. It gives the people the idea on how the company performs and produces products. It goes to say that how the item performs gives an impression to the people who may receive them. The clothing must be durable, of good quality and of course comfortable to wear. Absent these factors, one cannot be expected to use it. Although they are given for free or as gifts, people who may receive them still appreciate more if they can be of good use to them. If not, it is expected for them to end up in storage rooms or locked up in the closets.
Lastly, the design of the promotional clothing matters too. The more noticeable they are, the faster the promotion is. Careful deliberation should be made regarding the words that must be printed in the clothing. A slogan or a message must be catchy, not to mention the way the company name is arranged in the clothing. These matters may be small but they make the clothing more sellable to the people. A company should think how a person will feel when wearing the clothing. By that the right colors, designs and styles can be applied.
Promotional clothing, a good example of promotional products, is effective because the one who wears it will become an unconscious endorser of the business or company printed on it. Wherever he goes, whoever he meets, he will always be carrying the name of the company. Besides, clothing is a necessity which makes it more appealable to people. Giving them to valued customers, associates and business partners is a good way of establishing goodwill.
Whenever I open the phonebook and flip to the yellow pages, I see all sorts of business with gigantic ads. I even see them on the yellow pages website online. I am starting to think it might be a good thing if I put an ad in the yellow pages for my small business. As far as I know, anyone can place a yellow pages advertising box as long as they pay for it. We are not a huge, thousand employee company. We are a local business with about 25 employees but I think it would help business. If more people knew we were here, more people might start coming in and raising profits for us. I am going to have to find out how much it costs to place the ad and try it out for a couple of months. Who knows, maybe doing some marketing through yellow pages will help expand our business.
It was a sweet memory for me to think back about the days when I started with my apparel store. I only took the humble beginnings of being a dressmaker in one of the biggest designer labels in the industry. I made sure that I took note of how the operations worked for such a big business while I found my way through a good school. I did not hesitate to risk all of my savings, if it meant investing everything in my own venture.
I left my old job and focused on starting my own clothing line. My experience in coming up with ready-to-wear items for the working class to cater to, helped a lot in knowing the things they like. By then, I got to work and started to think of promotional gifts to give out down to the slightest detail of the outlet.
Now, I could say that the past filled my life with challenges and a dash of spice. Nevertheless, it was a good experience overall, because I learned and was able to establish my own secret to success.
